| In an effort to help you save money on shipping charges, we will credit your account any excess shipping charges whenever we can ship your order in a Priority Mail flat rate envelope or boxes (FRE/FRB). The shopping cart calculates shipping charges based on the weight of your order and your zip code (we ship out of Southern California); however, I may be able to save you money on the shipping charges whenever it is possible to use the United States Post Office Priority Mail flat rate envelope or boxes (FRE/FRB). So for example, I can fit a lot of flatback rhinestones, hair clips, or rhinestone belt buckles in the flat rate envelope that ships for $6.00 or I can fit a lot of ribbons in a flat rate box that ships for $11.00 (anywhere in the USA). Here are the current rates for 2010
Priority Mail® Flat-Rate Envelope ships for $6.00
Priority Mail® Small Flat-Rate Box ships for $6.00
Priority Mail® Regular/Medium Flat-Rate Boxes ships for $11.00
Priority Mail® Large Flat-Rate Box ships for $15.00
To give you an idea of how many 50-yard rolls I can fit into the medium FRB that ships for $11.00:
24 rolls of 3/8" grosgrain ribbon or
16 rolls of 5/8" grosgrain ribbon or
12 rolls of 7/8" grosgrain ribbon or
8 rolls of 1.5" grosgrain ribbon or
a combination of these sizes with about 2” at the top of the box for smaller things like hair clips or bow center resins, etc.
We will always use the FRE or FRB whenever it is cheaper than shipping it based on weight so the excess shipping charge will be issued as a store credit within 24 hours of receiving your payment minus a $1 processing fee. We issue store credit on excess shipping when a FRE or FRB is used, instead of refunds on payments because we do not have control over the 3rd party credit card companies and how they handle crediting your account, so we have had problems tracking down refunds even 12 days after it has been issued so it is just easier for us and for you to know that it is in your account as a store credit because we can do that instantly and you get an email within 24 hours to notify you that it was done and in your account ready to apply to your next purchase. We have a customer in New York that we ship her orders in 3 FRBs every time because it is still cheaper than shipping in one big box by weight.
